Fine 18th century Longcase Clock by Barwise, Cockermouth A fine mahogany 18th century Longcase Clock by Barwise, Cockermouth, circa 1780

The 13" arched painted dial with moon phase, rare sweep date hand and pierces hands, signed on the dial Barwife, Cockermouth. The four ringed pillar eight day movement striking on a bell on the hour. The hood with swan necked pediment, reeded pillar supports. The trunk having blind fretting on three sides above the long shaped crossbanded and shaped door. The base having raised crossbanded panel. Raised on two ogee bracket feet. The clock and case is is magnificent original condition with fine colour and excellent patination. The case was probably made by Gillows. 87½" high.

The movement has been cleaned tested and is in good working order.

The 13" arched brass dial with moon phase, subsiduary seconds and date aperture. The four ringed pillar eight day movement striking on a bell on the hour. The hood mounted with three (replaced) finials, swan necked pediment, reeded pillar supports. The trunk having blind fretting on three sides above the long shaped crossbanded door flanked by ¼ reeded pillars. The base having raised cross banded panel, canted corner mouldings. Raised on four ogee bracket feet. 97" high.

A very good 18th Century mahogany 8 day Longcase Clock by John Lawrence 1765-95, Lancaster

The fine well figured mahogany case, (possibly by Gillows) with ogee bracket feet, crossbanded base below a crossbanded shaped door flanked by quarter reeded columns, the hood with three quarter columns supporting a dentil cornice with scratch decoration below, the 8 day movement, arched 13" dial with silver chapter ring and silvered inner dial with fine acanthus type etched decoration, subsidiary seconds with date aperture with the moon roller in the arch. Signed in the arch. 85" high.
Excellent quality throughout.
The movement has been fully serviced, tested and is in good working order. The case is in original condition, original patination, and only small amounts of minor restoration.

A fine mahogany Edwardian Tubular chiming Longcase Clock
Dial signed Russells Ltd., 18 Church Street, Liverpool

The swan neck hood flanked by two reeded columns with brass capitals, over a trunk with full length oval glazed door crossbanded in tulip wood flanked by quarter reeded columns with brass capitals, over a base crossbanded in tulip wood with oval panel on raised plinth. The 13" dial with silvered chapter ring with applied arabic numerals, twin subsidiary dials for chime/silent and tune selection for Westminster and Whittington with applied pierced and engraved spandrels and dial centre, the heavy three train movement with deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, mercury jar pendulum, and brass weights.
