The company was founded in the early part of the last century,
though originally
as cabinet makers and antique restorers rather than dealers.
We have always concentrated on the finer pieces of English antique
furniture and decorative accessories of the period, mainly of the 18th century,
though furniture of the late 17th century and early 19th centuries is also stocked. Good
Victorian items, if of sufficient quality are also held.
We still maintain a small workshop and most of our restoration is
done "in house"
though more specialised facets of restoration, such as carving and gilding or metalwork,
are done by skilled and trusted outside craftsmen.
We have been members of the British Antique Dealers' Association
for over sixty years, being elected to membership in 1936. We have shown at both the
Grosvenor House and the Northern Antique Fair, and for many years being on the Vetting
Committees of each Fair. However, today we do not exhibit at any Fairs, preferring to
concentrate on maintaining the quality of our stock in our attractive Regency premises in
Low Harrogate.
